The Adams Council on Aging (CoA) is a town department. It was organized to develop a comprehensive network of in-home and community based services and supportive programs for people 60 and over in Adams.

Council on Aging Senior/Community Center

The Senior Center continues to be active. A food clinic is held every other month on Monday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., and a Blood Pressure Clinic is held on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Van ride scheduling can be arranged by calling 743-3929. Anna Farnam is Chairman of the Council.

The library houses an extensive collection of books, magazines, cassette tapes, records, video cassettes, framed art prints and newspapers. The newspaper collection, stored on microfilm, dates back to 1844. A genealogical collection is used extensively, including the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, a set of Mayflower descendants, and other genealogical information.

The Cheshire Library has Internet access available for its patrons. The library is open to the public and offers a wide variety of books, videos and audio material for pleasure and reference. There is a varied periodical section and titles can be ordered through the Western Massachusetts Regional Library System.
