Fall 2004
Articles on this page: Welcome
Welcome Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts is fortunate because it is situated in the beautiful Berkshires, an area renowned for its natural beauty, brilliant foliage, professional theater and world class museums. The Berkshire area also offers restaurants, shopping centers, and nightlife. Off Campus is designed for MCLA students as a resource on recreational and cultural activities. Also, students use this and other publications to become familiar with organizations, and opportunities for community service and service learning in the region. Some of the Berkshires' best attractions are not within walking distance, but don't let transportation deter you. Consider taking Berkshire County's public bus system; or better yet, if you live in campus housing, ask your Resident Advisor to organize an excursion or use the Student Life shuttle. If you live off-campus, talk with the shuttle coordinator about organizing a trip to one of the many Berkshire County cultural and recreational sites. Off Campus is published once a year. It is designed to help MCLA students take full advantage of their community, both on campus and off campus. We hope the 2004-2005 school year is your most fun yet! 24-Hour Emergency Service Police, Fire, Ambulance 911 Hospitals Berkshire Medical Center Pittsfield, MA 413-447-2000 North Adams Regional Hospital North Adams, MA 413-663-3701 Pharmacy Price Chopper, Berkshire Crossing, Pittsfield, MA 413-442-7696 Heating Lipton Energy, Pittsfield 413-443-9191 Mass.
