How I would describe myself: Someone who’s very fortunate. I have a wonderful family, great friends, a secure job, and I have my health. Can’t ask for much more than that.

Current volunteerism, board memberships, etc.: Board of Directors of the Williamstown Youth Center; secretary to Berkshire County Clerk’s Association; Mass. Town Clerk’s Association.

Family: Husband, Michael Kennedy; children, two daughters: Amy and Courtney; two sons: Damon and Seth; three dogs and two cats.

Education: Pittsfield High School; associates degree, Berkshire Community College; one year, North Adams State College.

Personal hero/role model: My father, John Courtney Jr.

Why is this person a hero/role model to you?: He was never afraid to make changes in his life. Also, he had a fantastic ability to find the humor in any situation. Also, he fought in some of the toughest battles as a Marine in World War II.

Personal achievement(s) of which you are most proud: My children and also running marathons. Will be doing my third marathon Oct. 27 -- the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington D.C.

The best advice you can give someone: “Enjoy every day, because you never know what’s around the corner.”

Favorite TV/radio show: “Larry King Live” and “Oprah.”

Pet peeve: People who cannot accept responsibility for their own actions. Also, greedy people.

Hobbies/interests: Running, cross-country skiing, and spending as much time possible at our place in York Beach, Maine.
